BCFPD was called to the 0-100 block of Liberty Drive in South Barrington after reports of a fully involved fire in an attached garage. Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-family home with a garage engulfed in flames, and the fire had already spread into the kitchen.The incident was quickly escalated to a Code 4 working fire, indicating a serious and complex situation. Fire crews launched an aggressive attack using both interior and exterior water lines to contain the blaze.Due to the intensity of the fire, a MABAS box alarm was activated to bring in additional resources. A tender shuttle operation was set up to ensure a continuous water supply, which reached 1,000 gallons per minute within just 30 minutes of the initial call.Firefighters managed to contain the flames to the original area of origin, though heavy smoke and water damage were reported throughout the structure. Salvage efforts began as the situation was brought under control.All occupants safely evacuated without serious injuries and were assessed by emergency medical personnel on site. Fortunately, no firefighters were injured during the operation.The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by local authorities. This incident highlights the importance of quick response and coordinated efforts in preventing further damage and ensuring public safety.
