On July 23, Hyundai Heavy Industries' first modern intelligent anti-collision support system developed in Korea will ensure the safety and best navigation of the ship.
By automatically detecting potential obstacles within 50 kilometers, such as ships and reefs, the Hyundai Intelligent Collision Support System will search for the best sea routes and prevent collisions. In addition, modern intelligent anti-collision support systems with improved accuracy help ships identify hazards based on ship type, climatic conditions, and wind and waves. In addition, the collision warning system of the modern intelligent anti-collision support system mine will display “warningâ€, “emergency†and “dangerous†signals to ensure safe navigation at sea.
Modern intelligent anti-collision support systems installed with navigation systems such as Automatic Radar Plotter (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Electronic Chart System can analyze the location of obstacles according to the International Maritime Collision Avoidance Rules. In May and June of this year, Hyundai Heavy Industries has completed the performance test of the system on a 13,800 TEU container ship and a 162,000 cubic meter LNG ship.
The modern intelligent anti-collision support system will be commercialized in 2016 after a long-haul sea trial of its performance and stability.
