From Justenfh.com:
Mark Robert Amore, 46, of McHenry, passed away on April 16, 2020. Born on February 1, 1974, in McHenry, Mark was the son of Wayne and Christine (Dzanbozoff) Amore. He married Jaimie Tabert on September 28, 2013, in his hometown. From a young age, Mark had a deep passion for emergency services, often riding his bike through the streets of McHenry chasing fire trucks.
During high school, he joined the McHenry County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency as a radio operator. His first call came during the Plainfield tornado in 1990. Later, he worked briefly as a dispatcher for the city of McHenry before pursuing a career as a firefighter and paramedic. After high school, he enrolled in EMT classes at McHenry County College and started working with TEK Ambulance Service. He later completed paramedic and firefighter training at MCC.
At 21, he joined his father in the McHenry Township Fire Protection District, a proud moment for both. He served for 20 years and retired as a lieutenant. Beyond firefighting, Mark had a love for heavy machinery and attended the Local 150 Operating Engineers apprentice program. He worked for Lake County Grading for 21 years before joining Pirtano Construction.
In 2001, he became a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the Lincolnshire Riverwoods Fire Protection District. He also contributed as a mechanic, using the skills he gained in McHenry. Mark was an active member of the Lake County Underwater Recovery Team, operating side scan sonar and boats. A lifelong water lover, he enjoyed boating on the Chain-O-Lakes and spent winters snowmobiling in northern Wisconsin.
Mark’s greatest joy was his family—his wife Jaimie, their children Ayden and Brynlee, and his parents Wayne and Christine. He cherished family trips, whether it was boating, camping, or exploring the outdoors. These moments were what made all his hard work worth it.
He is survived by his wife Jaimie; son Ayden; daughter Brynlee; parents Wayne and Christine Amore; mother-in-law Cindy and father-in-law Greg Tabert; sister-in-law Jenna Ridenour; brothers-in-law Jason and Justen Tabert; grandmother Marge Dzanbozoff; aunts Sister Jean Amore, Sandy Amore, Marge Amore, Margret “Peg†Stevens, Patty Vavrik, Fran Michelini; uncles Damien “Buster†Amore; many cousins; and close friends.
