Karl Klotz, Steve Redick, and Larry Shapiro recently visited all five stations of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District to conduct a site update. Alongside the introduction of new equipment, this is part of an ongoing effort by several local departments to renumber their apparatus. During the visit, several updated and newly acquired units were photographed, including three ambulances, two engines, two tenders, and a brand-new boat.
McHenry has significantly expanded its fleet, transitioning from one tender to three. Now, each station except the downtown location is equipped with a tender. The new twin 3,500-gallon tenders were constructed by US Tanker on IHC 7500 chassis with extended cabs. Tender 1272 is stationed at Station 2, while Tender 1274 can be found at Station 4.
A photo of Tender 1272 shows it as one of the two new units, built in 2013 on the IHC 7500 chassis. It carries 3,500 gallons of water and features a 500-GPM pump. The image was captured by Larry Shapiro.
In addition, two Pierce engines have been introduced since our last update, with one being relocated. These newer models are now mounted on Impel XM chassis instead of the previous Velocity model. Engine 41 is stationed at Station 1, and Engine 43 is at Station 3. Engine 44, previously known as Engine 10, is now based at Station 4. Two more engines are currently on order, with each expected to arrive six months apart.
Photos of Engine 41 and Engine 43 show them both as 2012 and 2013 Pierce Impel XM 1500/1000 units. Engine 43 includes a telescoping light tower on the roof, making it especially versatile for nighttime operations.
The ambulance fleet has also seen significant changes. The newest unit, a 2013 Type I Osage, is stationed at Station 4 and operates as Ambulance 54. Another new ambulance, a 2012 Type I AEV, is assigned to Station 1 as Ambulance 51. Additionally, a 2010 Osage Type I, Ambulance 52, was added to Station 2.
Lastly, Boat 1292, a 24-foot rigid-hull inflatable boat built by Clark Boats in 2013, is stationed at Station 2. This vessel enhances the department’s ability to respond to water-based emergencies.
Electric Rice Cooker
The heating elements of electric cooker include electric heating tube type heating plate and P.T.C. element heating plate. Electric heating tube type heating plate has good insulation, corrosion resistance, thermal conductivity and mechanical strength, long life and high efficiency; P.T.C. element heating plate has the characteristics of positive temperature resistivity and automatic temperature control, high efficiency, no open flame,
Less affected by power fluctuations.
The temperature control elements of the Rice Cooker include a bimetal temperature control system and a magnetic material temperature control system. The former is not as safe and reliable as the latter. The electric rice cooker is divided into combined type and integral type according to the structure of the pot body; according to the pressure in the pot, it is divided into low pressure type (0.04MPa), medium pressure type (0.1MPa) and high pressure type (0.15~0.2MPa); The methods of heating food are divided into direct heating and indirect heating.
