Most high-end plastic machinery needs to be imported

Statistics show that in recent years, the annual growth rate of China's plastics machinery industry is about 30%. Plastic machinery products are complete in categories, with an annual manufacturing capacity of about 200,000 sets (sets), ranking first in the world. At the same time, the pace of development of plastics machinery products and the major economic indicators created among the 194 industries in the machinery industry are among the top, and it is one of the fastest growing industries in China's machinery industry. However, despite this, China's plastic machinery still has a market gap of 10 billion yuan each year, and 60% of high-end plastic machinery products still need to be imported. According to industry sources, at present, China's exports of low-end plastic machinery products account for more than 90%, while the gap in high-end products is being filled by imported plastic machinery.

It is understood that China currently imports tens of thousands of plastic machines (sets) each year. The unit price of imported precision press equipment is usually several times or even more than ten times higher than domestic brands. As domestic plastic machines are almost impossible to compete with products imported from Japan and Europe in terms of efficiency, precision, and stability, almost all of the large-scale, high-speed, precision, and specialized equipment fields are occupied by imported products. At the same time, due to market and other factors, China's plastics production in 2005 showed a negative growth, a decrease of 5.39% over the previous year. At present, 60% of the approximately 20,000 presses imported annually in China are precision injection molding machines. In terms of multi-layer co-extrusion machines, it is still difficult for China's presses to accurately control layer thickness technology compared with foreign presses. In China's export of plastic machinery products, low-end products up to 90%.
