WACKER launches new silicone device in Germany

Wacker Chemie AG's new set of silicone polymers and sealing materials at the Nünchritz site in Saxony, Germany, was officially put into production on September 25. It is reported that the investment in these two new devices reached tens of millions of euros. WACKER plans to expand the Nünchritz plant into the world's largest and most advanced silicone production base. Since 1999, WACKER's total investment in Nünchritz has exceeded 500 million euros.

It is said that WACKER's new sealing material device will produce single-component silicone rubber under the trademark of ELASTOSIL. This silicone rubber can be cured at room temperature, especially for sealing, but also for bonding. It can be used to produce gap sealing materials for window sealing, bathroom joints and glass seals as well as glued mirrors and plastics.

WACKER's silicone business unit produces NPS, chlorosilanes, silicone oils, silicone emulsions, defoamers, hydrocarbyl silicates and silicone rubber, and other primary products at Nünchritz. Silicone materials can be widely used in construction, chemical, automotive, textile, electrical and electronic, and cosmetics and paper industry.
