Among the local PM2.5 pollution in Beijing, motor vehicles, coal combustion, industrial production and dust are the main sources. Motor vehicles accounted for 31.1%, coal combustion accounted for 22.4%, industrial production accounted for 18.1%, dust accounted for 14.3%, and other emissions such as catering, automobile repair, livestock and poultry farming, construction coating accounted for about 14.1%. The “contribution†of motor vehicles to PM2.5 is comprehensive, including both direct emission of PM2.5 and its gaseous precursors, as well as indirect discharge of road traffic dust.
