New breakthroughs in diabetes research by scientists at the University of Auckland may lead to new treatments. Scientists have discovered that they believe a single molecular mechanism triggers both forms of disease. This has been suspected before, but no proof. "We believe this discovery can be used to create new anti-diabetic items, hoping to have potential items in clinical trials and be ready for the next two years," Cooper said. "Our goal is to treat these two forms of disease in patients whose purpose is to prevent the death of insulin-secreting cells and increase the long-term goals of these cells." Diabetes, blood sugar levels rise in the blood, causing damage to organs, Such as heart, eyes and nerves.
Suffering from type 1 adolescent onset diabetes requires the injection of insulin to survive. Type 2, increasing global health issues, is a more common one. According to the International Diabetes Federation, it is expected that the number of people suffering from diabetes will reach 592 million by 2035.
