Xlong spring energized seals are U-shaped seals with a single-acting sealing element. The spring embedded in the PTFE jacket activates the sealing lips of the seal. System pressure assists the spring in creating a tight, leak-proof seal between the sealing lips and the mating metal parts. The spring also helps accommodate slight misalignment, reduce jacket wear, and maintain consistent sealing pressure against the target surface.
These spring energized seals are specifically designed to overcome issues commonly found with PTFE composites or other high-performance plastics like UHMW-PE and elastomers. They are suitable for static, rotary, and reciprocating applications, operating in temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 300°C, pressures from vacuum to 700 kg/cm², and speeds up to 20 m/s. These seals can withstand the harshest and most corrosive environments.
