The proposal stated that according to experts' estimates, China's sweet sorghum, cassava and sugarcane can meet the raw material requirements for annual production of 30 million tons of bio-fuel ethanol, and Jatropha curcas, Pistacia chinensis and other oil plants can meet the requirement of producing 10 million tons of biodiesel per year. With raw material requirements, waste animal and vegetable oil recovery can produce approximately 5 million tons of biodiesel per year. If agricultural and forestry wastes produce breakthrough technologies in the production of fuel ethanol or synthetic diesel, the annual biofuel production can reach 100 million tons. Therefore, in theory, the potential for the development of biofuels in China is great. To this end, the Democratic National Construction Association proposes to do the following work in the following areas: First, formulate and improve the development plans and policies for the biofuel industry in China; second, strengthen the research and development of biofuel technologies and the industrial infrastructure; and third, make a good use of Land resources survey and assessment and energy crop planting planning; Fourth, build large-scale non-food biofuel demonstration projects; Fifth, establish and improve the biofuel purchase circulation system and formulate relevant policies.
