Rubber Summit pays attention to new challenges in global rubber market supply and demand

The two-day World Rubber Summit opened on the 14th in Bangkok, Thailand. At this meeting, rubber industry representatives and academic experts from 18 countries around the world and the European Union will discuss the new challenges and challenges faced by the global rubber market.

Syed Secretary-General of the International Rubber Research Group said at the opening ceremony of the meeting that in the last 10 years, the international rubber market has undergone profound changes in the supply and demand situation and the international rubber industry. These changes have had a direct impact on rubber producing and consuming countries.

Schmidt emphasized that under the new situation, the conference will identify the theme as “a new challenge for rubber supply and demand in the world: how to set goals and how to deal with them”, hoping to strengthen the link between rubber producing countries and consumer countries and make countries more fully. To grasp the global rubber market situation and new developments in science and technology research, and to promote close cooperation between all parties to regulate and control the global rubber market supply and demand.

Tira Suddab, Minister of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives of Thailand, said at the meeting that as the world's largest producer and exporter of natural rubber, Thailand has been studying the sustainable development of rubber production in recent years. Supply and demand communication and exchange between the two sides can effectively adjust the scale of production, so that the global rubber market will not be tight supply, nor will it waste resources due to oversupply.

In an interview with Xinhua, the reporter pointed out that in 2006, Thailand exported 2.771 million tons of natural rubber, accounting for 38.5% of the world's natural rubber exports, of which exports to China accounted for 27% of Thailand's total exports. China has surpassed Japan as the largest buyer of Thai rubber. He said that in the future, the prospects for cooperation between the two sides in the rubber field will be very broad.

The World Rubber Summit was jointly organized by the International Rubber Research Group and the Thai government. After the summit, the organizers will hold a three-day seminar so that the parties can discuss in depth some more detailed and professional issues.
