On October 30, the 200,000-ton-per-year modified asphalt project of Fuel Oil Company was completed and put into production at Yongdeng asphalt storage. PetroChina built the first set of mobile modified asphalt plant in the northwest region, which is of great significance to meet the needs of the construction of the northwestern highway.
Compared with traditional asphalt, modified asphalt has a greater advantage. These advantages include: high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, strong adaptability, good toughness, fatigue resistance, long service life, stable performance, and saving maintenance costs. At present, the demand for modified bitumen in China has increased year by year, showing a trend of supply exceeding demand.
The fuel oil company's annual designed capacity of 200,000 tons of modified asphalt is 40 tons per hour and the annual output can reach 200,000 tons. The entire project includes mobile skid-mounted modified asphalt reconciliation production equipment, as well as supporting facilities such as fire protection, power distribution, water supply and drainage, thermal and HVAC. This project is a key construction project of the fuel oil company to improve the service quality of the highway construction industry in the northwest, optimize the company's industrial chain, improve the network layout, and realize the strategic deployment of the company's national asphalt resources.
In May of this year, the preliminary design of the 200,000 tons modified asphalt project was completed, the construction drawing design was completed in June, and construction started in August. Organizations such as design, construction, supervision and other scientific organizations worked closely together to strengthen management. After 70 days of struggle, the project construction was completed on October 20.
Yongdeng Asphalt Storage Co., Ltd., a sales subsidiary of the Fuel Oil Company, has 100,000 tons of asphalt storage, railway asphalt loading and unloading lines, and other supporting facilities. It is an important distribution center for the group's Kunlun brand asphalt in the northwest region.
After the project is put into production, the modified asphalt produced by the fuel oil company will be mainly sold to Gansu Province, Qinghai Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, providing a strong guarantee for the construction of highways in these areas.
