This report comes from Steve Redick.
There was a technical rescue (TRT) box alarm last night in the 8500 block of N Olcott. From what I could gather, a worker became trapped in a trench collapse during a construction project in front of a home. The Niles Fire Department's aerial ladder was deployed with some kind of block or hoist system attached, though it wasn’t being used at the time I arrived. I could see some shoring in place and a "sewer sucker" actively working. The victim was successfully extracted after about 90 minutes and appeared to be in good condition. I managed to capture some great rig shots as well.Steve

It looked like a coordinated effort involving multiple units, including a Pierce aerial ladder truck, a fire engine, and even a towing company assisting with air bags. The scene was pretty intense but everything seemed under control. It’s always impressive to see how quickly these teams respond and handle complex situations. Definitely worth capturing on camera.
