Wang Xiangzhi is deputy director of Hualing Xingma Automobile Group Technology Center, deputy general manager of Hualing Hanma Engine Branch, and senior engineer of the automotive industry. Into the Hanma engine production base, more than 30,000 square meters of the workshop unfolded in front of me.

After the new production base of Hualing chassis was put into production, the original Hualing chassis second assembly plant was vacated and transformed into a Hanma engine production base.

Outside is the cold wind, but it is warm and spring into the workshop. Wang Zhuren told me that the Hanma engine is an advanced precision equipment. The combined error of parts and components is calculated in micrometers. During the machining process, there are strict requirements on the cleanliness of temperature and air, so the temperature in the workshop is passed. On the ground, all the 30,000-square-meter workshops were brushed with epoxy paint, which was as clean as a mirror and spotless. The 30,000-square-meter factory building has been carefully designed to distribute three production lines - cylinder head machining, cylinder machining and assembly lines, and a gantry test room.

Near the door is the cylinder head processing line. The blanks of the cylinder head are automatically transported to the machine tool through the truss manipulators on the suspended track. The machining is performed step by step, and the whole process is to go through 10 machining procedures. The machining lathes for cylinder heads were all purchased from the internationally most famous machine tool manufacturing multinational company. The totally enclosed 10 machine tools were laid open and fully automated. The iron scraps were not seen on the ground and all the iron scraps produced passed The vacuum pipeline is absorbed into the waste site and treated in a centralized manner.

It is connected with the cylinder processing line, also through ten processes, completed by ten fully closed and fully automated machine tools. The cylinder machining lathes are also purchased from a leading multinational machine tool manufacturing company.

The end of the processing line is cleaned. The processed parts must be thoroughly cleaned and the residues on the workpieces must be clearly discerned, so as to minimize the wear of high-speed parts and increase the life of the engine. The domestic standard for the degree of engine cleanliness is about 100 milligrams of residue. Hanma Power's processed parts are cleaned in two ways. The first cleaning is made with domestic washing machines, and the second cleaning is made with washing machines made in Germany. This is the most advanced washing machine in the world and is also the domestic heavy truck engine. The best washing machine in the industry. After the second cleaning, the residue is only about 10 mg, which is 10 times lower than the national standard!

In addition to the manual assembly of a few parts of the assembly line, more than 80% are automated assembly and robot operations.

The Hanma engine production line is a production line that is automated, intelligent, and highly informatized. Each lathe has a two-dimensional code identification. Through the identification, the information is transmitted to associated equipment such as cutters, jigs, and manipulators for automatic conveyance. After automatic adjustment and automatic processing, the processing date, code, and various parameters of each part can be automatically stored. This two-dimensional code recognition system for processing equipment is unique in the manufacture of today's domestic engines.

The production time of a single engine is only 12 minutes. The entire production line that has been put into operation for a yearly production capacity of 10,000 units does not include ancillary facilities and only 200 employees.

Her advanced nature is not only reflected in the high degree of automation and intelligence, but also reflected in another domestic unique technology—a flexible production line for process design.

Today, the vast majority of engine manufacturers in the world and all engine manufacturers in China are dedicated to production. In other words, one production line can only process one type of engine. And Hanma's 10L and 12L engines can be produced on the same production line, which is a flexible production line.

This is undoubtedly the most advanced machining technology in the world!

Wang Xiangzhi introduced to me that during his inspection of multinational engine production lines, Liu Hanru learned that a few companies in the world have adopted flexible production lines. This kind of design for processing multiple engines on the same production line is the most advanced production line today.

However, such equipment must be redesigned in conjunction with the structure of the engine, and it must be negotiated repeatedly by equipment suppliers, engine design companies, and parts suppliers. The three parties can achieve complete agreement, and this will inevitably increase purchase costs. Liu Hanru made a calculation in his mind. Although the purchase cost of single equipment has risen, it is possible to build one less production line and the overall cost is reduced, which is still cost-effective. Therefore, the supplier of equipment is insisted on flexible design.

Wang Xiangzhi introduced to me that the Hanma engine production line, except for a small number of auxiliary equipment purchased from domestic excellent companies, all machining and inspection equipment are purchased from foreign companies. Purchasing these equipments is precisely the time when Europe and the United States were in a financial crisis. Liu Hanru took advantage of this opportunity to minimize procurement costs.

After a trial production of the production line one year later, a German expert who commissioned the equipment said: "Your price will not be there in the future."

The completion of the entire Hanma engine's production line includes plant reconstruction, power conversion, overall production line design, equipment procurement and installation. The total investment in the first phase is less than RMB 800 million.

The Hanma engine production line started the transformation of the factory in July 2009. After international inspections, product design, production line design, equipment procurement, parts procurement, and equipment installation, Liu Hanru and his team have spent countless sleepless nights. The rapids, finally in September 2012, completed one-off commissioning and entered trial production.
