From the CAD:
11:28AM Thu 04/24/2014 TRT3 HAS BEEN DISPATCHED TO CFS:13 MUTUAL AID. Loc: 3980 TRIUMVERA DR, GV NM. APT#: GRID:9999. Date/Time: 04/24/2014 11:28:29. From RED CTR.
This was a car that crashed into a building. I didn’t hear the Glenview dispatch, but I did hear RED Center sending Engine 1 and TRT3. I was on Central Road heading to NIPSTA for a MABAS meeting, so I took it in cold. When I arrived, I saw the car had entered the garage area, and there was a strong smell of natural gas in the air. I parked about 100 yards or more away from the scene. GV had a line laid out and was working to secure the gas leak. I’m not sure if anyone was injured. As soon as I got to the command post, Battalion 6 sent TRT3 and E1 back, along with some GV companies.

It was a pretty intense call, and the situation seemed serious right from the start. The presence of natural gas made things even more dangerous, so I stayed back and let the professionals handle it. I could see the fire trucks arriving quickly, and the crews were already on the scene. It’s always unsettling to see something like this happen, especially in a residential area. I just hope everyone involved was okay. I’ll keep an eye on any updates from the local news or official reports.
