Iron Mineral Recovery in Iron Tailings - Wugang Chengchao Iron Ore Concentrator

Gangue minerals chlorite, phlogopite, calcite, dolomite, gypsum, albite and epidote, diopside and the like. The multi-element analysis of tailings is shown in Table 1. It can be seen from Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 that in the tailings of the Chengchao Iron Ore Dressing Plant, the iron content in the magnetic material is 1.75%, accounting for 24.37% of the total iron; the iron content in the red limonite is 3.75%, accounting for 52.23% of iron. The magnetite is mostly monomer, its dissociation degree is more than 85%, and it is rarely associated with pyrite, red limonite and gangue; the red limonite is mostly rich in living organisms, and is connected with gangue, followed by magnetic Iron ore is continuous, and there are still a certain number of magnetic iron minerals in the tailings. Most of them are present in fine and fine-grained inlays and in continuous state.
The Chengchao Iron Ore Dressing Plant selected a JHC120-40-12 moment ring permanent magnet magnetic separator as the tailings re-election equipment for the recovery of iron from the tailings. The concentrator uses the existing tailings conveying chute to remove the metal chute 2 sections (about 2m) from the tailings into the tailings chute before the concentrating tank. It is designed as a JHC permanent magnet magnetic separator tank and installs one. The JHC type moment ring type permanent magnet magnetic separator re-selects all the tailings of the concentrator, and the selected coarse concentrate is transported to the existing sorting system for sorting by the slurry pump. The magnetic separation operation procedure obtains qualified iron concentrate; the re-selected tailings enters the concentration tank through the original tailings chute, and the concentrated tailings are transported to the tailings storage. The tailings re-election process is shown in Figure 1.

The tailings re-election project of Chengchao Iron Ore Concentrator was officially put into production in February 1997. After sampling, the results show that the final tailings grade can be reduced by about 1% after the re-election of the tailings, and the metal theoretical recovery rate can reach 20.23. %, the monthly economic benefit can be 108,000 yuan, and the annual economic benefit can reach 1,243,200 yuan.
