These photos capture a single-family house fire on the west side of Villa Park, taken during a bitterly cold and snowy winter afternoon in the early to mid-1990s. At the time, units from Villa Park (including call-backs), Elmhurst, Lombard, and Addison were either on scene or en route. I'm not entirely sure if it was a General Alarm or a First-Level MABAS Box.
All the photos were taken with a 35mm pocket camera—no digital cameras or smartphones back then! I hope you enjoy this little trip down memory lane.
I’ll be sharing more photos as time allows. Let me know if you'd like to see more!
Best regards,
Brian Murphy

Notice the smoke hanging low to the ground—very cold day! Also, note the 2½-inch supply line from the hydrant down the block at the corner. Brian Murphy photo
