Application of New Adjustable Pressure Reducing Valve in Yulin Water Plant in

**Abstract:** This paper presents the successful application of the DN1200 YX741X-10 diaphragm-type adjustable pressure-reducing valve manufactured by Zhuzhou South Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. at the Yulin Chengbei Water Treatment Plant in Guangxi, China. Prior to the pipeline renovation, the system faced significant safety risks due to high-pressure pipelines and the absence of effective pressure regulation. The installation of the new valve eliminated these risks, ensuring safe operation for over a year with stable and reliable pressure reduction performance. Key features include automatic pressure tracking, efficient decompression, and minimal maintenance. This case study demonstrates the effectiveness of using large-diameter diaphragm valves in water supply systems to enhance safety and operational efficiency. **Keywords:** Diaphragm, Pressure Reduction, Automatic Tracking, Pressure Feedback, Safe Operation, Water Supply System **Description:** The Yulin City North Waterworks, located in Guangxi, was commissioned in April 2000 with a daily production capacity of 100,000 cubic meters. The water is sourced from the Su Smoke Reservoir, which is 15.2 kilometers away from the treatment plant. The water conveyance system consists of DN1200 prestressed concrete pipes and GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) pipes. The vertical height difference between the reservoir and the plant is 52 meters, reaching up to 61 meters during peak periods. A DN1200 gate valve is installed at the sedimentation tank, while a DN800 butterfly valve is placed along the pipeline. However, no additional valves are present in the middle of the pipeline, leading to uncontrolled pressure buildup that poses serious safety hazards. Due to the long pipeline passing through farmland, regular maintenance and management are challenging. In the event of a pipeline rupture or failure, the consequences could be catastrophic. To address this issue, two technical solutions were considered: the installation of a surge tank at 8 kilometers from the reservoir, or the use of an adjustable pressure-reducing valve. After careful evaluation, the second option was chosen due to its lower cost, smaller footprint, faster construction time, and reduced risk of secondary water pollution. Following extensive market research and analysis, the DN1200 YX741X-10 diaphragm-type adjustable pressure-reducing valve was selected. It is currently the largest such valve available in China and was installed in the main water supply line between the reservoir and the treatment plant. The system uses two stages of pressure reduction in series. The first stage is located 5 kilometers from the reservoir, and the second stage is 11.7 kilometers from the reservoir. Each stage is equipped with manual butterfly valves for maintenance, and a DN400 venting valve is also installed after the first stage to prevent overpressure in case of valve failure. The system operates without external power, relying solely on the hydraulic pressure of the water itself for feedback control. The outlet pressure remains stable at the set value, even when upstream pressure or flow varies. During testing, the pressure was consistently maintained at 0.2 MPa after the first stage and 0.1 MPa after the second stage, with no fluctuations observed. The maximum flow rate reached 3,500 cubic meters per hour, demonstrating the valve’s high capacity and efficiency. The valve’s structure includes a main body, diaphragm assembly, pilot valve, and control piping. It features a streamlined design that reduces resistance and enhances flow. The internal components are made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability and low maintenance. The valve can be easily adjusted to meet different pressure requirements, making it suitable for various applications beyond water supply, including fire protection, petrochemical, steel, and agricultural irrigation systems. After more than a year of continuous operation, the system has shown excellent stability and reliability. No maintenance has been required, and the valve has performed as expected under varying conditions. Its ability to automatically adjust and maintain pressure makes it an ideal solution for long-distance water transmission systems. **Conclusion:** The implementation of the DN1200 YX741X-10 diaphragm-type adjustable pressure-reducing valve at the Yulin Chengbei Water Treatment Plant successfully resolved major safety issues associated with high-pressure pipelines. The system now operates safely and efficiently, with stable pressure control and minimal maintenance. This innovative valve represents a significant advancement in water supply technology and has great potential for widespread application in urban and industrial water distribution systems. **Author:** Chen Minglin – Yulin City North Waterworks, Guangxi Luo Jianqun – Zhuzhou South Valve Co., Ltd.

Pickup Truck Tonneau Cover

The Pickup Truck Tonneau Cover is made of ABS material, which is very solid and durable and can effectively cover the cargo hopper to protect the cargo from weather conditions such as rain, snow, sunlight and dust. This is especially important when traveling long distances. Not only does it protect the cargo, but it also helps to secure the cargo and prevent it from moving around inside the hopper during transportation, thus reducing the risk of damage. These Pickup Truck Tonneau Covers for pickup trucks not only protect the cargo intact, but also provide a more refined and cleaner look, enhancing the overall aesthetics.
