As seen around … Elgin

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something interesting I stumbled upon earlier this week. On Tuesday morning, while I was out and about, I noticed the Elgin Fire Department setting up near the lake behind Sherman Hospital. It looked like they were preparing for some kind of dive rescue training exercise. The photos attached here should give you a good idea of what I saw. You'll notice a few different rigs, including an Elgin Fire Department 2015 E-One, Engine 5, Engine 3, a Seagrave, and Medic 1. One of the standout details is that Engine 5 has a bell mounted on it, which actually came from their older 2001 KME vehicle. It was pretty cool to see everything in action, and I thought you'd enjoy these photos just as much as I did. Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts about it! Take care, Mike Maida --- ![Elgin FD fire engine and Medic unit](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida* ![Elgin FD Engine 5](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida* ![Elgin FD Engine 5](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida* ![Elgin FD Engine 5](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida* ![Elgin FD Engine 5](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida* ![Elgin FD Engine 5 decal](#) *Photo Credit: Mike Maida*
