Here are some excerpts from the Chicago Tribune:

Two people, including a firefighter, were injured when they slipped on ice during a house fire in Tinley Park. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon under extremely cold conditions, according to officials.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m. at the 16000 block of Fairfax Lane. Upon arrival, they saw heavy flames coming from the first floor and attached garage of the home, said Assistant Fire Chief Kris Dunn. As they approached the fire, the team received a call about a possible person trapped inside—but that turned out to be false, Dunn added.

The extreme weather made the firefighting efforts even more challenging. Despite the icy conditions, crews worked quickly to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of all involved. No further details about the cause of the fire have been released yet.
