MVA with entrapment in Lake in the Hills, 3-9-19

On Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2019, firefighters from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire District responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Harvest Gate Road. Upon arrival, crews discovered two cars with significant damage. Two individuals from one vehicle and one person from the other were transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to remove the doors of one car to safely extract the driver. Two ambulances from Algonquin and one from Huntley were on scene to assist with patient transport. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among the other occupants of the second vehicle. The incident drew attention from local media and residents, with several photos capturing the scene, including images of firefighters working to free the injured and emergency vehicles on the road. A panoramic view showed the scale of the response, highlighting the presence of fire trucks and ambulances at the crash site. The area was eventually cleared, and traffic resumed after the emergency teams completed their work.
