I just got back from the fire muster, and it was an absolutely fantastic event! Steve Redick shared some great highlights, and I wanted to pass them along. One of the standout pieces for me was the debut of the Palatine Snorkel. It's always exciting to see something new at these shows, and this one didn't disappoint.
The weather was perfect—clear skies and comfortable temperatures, which made the whole experience even better. There were so many impressive vehicles on display, but unfortunately, not everything went smoothly. The CFD Engine 10 Fox ran into a mechanical issue and had to be towed back home on a flatbed. That was a bit of a bummer, but these things happen, especially with large equipment in use over long periods.

I've included some of my favorite shots below. These images were taken by Steve Redick himself, and they give a great sense of the variety and scale of the fire trucks present. You'll find everything from the Chicago FD Ahrens Fox fire engine to the Frankfort FD Snorkel and the Peotone FD pumper-tanker. There was also a fantastic display of vintage fire trucks, including a beautiful American LaFrance Century pumper that had everyone talking.

All in all, it was a memorable day filled with nostalgia, community spirit, and a deep appreciation for the history and evolution of firefighting equipment. I can't wait for next year's event already!
