Maintaining a clean and disinfected classroom is essential for ensuring the health and safety of students, especially during these challenging times with the ongoing pandemic. As we move into another school year, choosing the right cleaning products becomes even more crucial. It's important to select a cleaning and sanitizing brand that guarantees effectiveness without leaving harmful residues behind. One product that stands out for us here at Cook’s is Nyco Chemical, conveniently located near Chicago. However, selecting the right chemicals is only half the battle—thoroughly cleaning all frequently touched surfaces is equally vital. Below is a detailed checklist designed to help maintain proper hygiene practices in your classroom. 1. Begin by clearing all surfaces of any clutter or objects to ensure unobstructed access. 2. Dust all desks, shelves, and whiteboards, starting from the top and working your way down. Don't forget to dust air vents too. 3. Deep-clean all surfaces thoroughly, beginning with walls, shelves, counters, desks, and chairs. Inspect classroom sinks and unclog drains if necessary. 4. Identify shared items such as keyboards and thoroughly clean them. 5. Apply a disinfectant spray to high-touch areas like desks, chair arms, door handles, light switches, and shared supplies. Allow the disinfectant to sit for the recommended time before wiping off excess. 6. Use disinfectant wipes suitable for electronics on computers, phones, smartboards, and tablets. 7. Clean all glass surfaces, including windows and doors, using glass cleaner. 8. Restock soap, tissues, and hand sanitizers in the classroom. 9. Check and empty pencil sharpeners. 10. Clean and disinfect all sinks and fixtures. 11. Wipe down any residual disinfectant from high-touch areas. 12. Empty trash bins and replace liners. Always wash your hands thoroughly afterward. 13. Vacuum carpets in high-traffic zones and treat stains with a spot cleaner if needed. 14. Mop hard floors with a disinfectant solution, first dry-mopping and then wet-mopping. 15. Dispose of used cleaning cloths and mops promptly. 16. Wash your hands thoroughly upon completing the cleaning process. Following this checklist ensures a safe and hygienic environment for both students and staff. Remember, maintaining cleanliness is an ongoing effort, and regular attention to detail makes all the difference.
