Encourage the development of seven major areas of environmental protection equipment on the list

In response to the growing need for environmental protection and sustainable development, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has recently released an updated version of the "Catalogue of Environmental Protection Equipment (Products) Currently Encouraged by the State." This revised list aims to promote the development of 107 key products across seven major areas, reflecting the country’s commitment to addressing pollution and fostering green technologies. The first area focuses on **air pollution control equipment**, including dust removal systems for industrial furnaces and kilns, flue gas desulfurization units for power plants, and advanced purification systems for harmful gases. It also covers coal cleaning and combustion technologies aimed at reducing emissions. Under **water pollution prevention and control**, the emphasis is on wastewater treatment solutions such as biochemical treatment systems, heavy metal removal technologies, sludge management, and disinfection equipment that directly impact public health and environmental safety. For **noise and vibration control**, the focus is on urban noise reduction technologies, helping to create quieter and more livable environments in densely populated areas. Regarding **solid waste treatment**, the catalogue encourages the development of harmless disposal technologies, with strict regulations on incineration emissions and enhanced performance standards for medical waste sterilization equipment. The **comprehensive utilization and clean production** category includes equipment for recycling waste materials, managing three wastes (waste gas, waste water, and solid waste), utilizing residual heat, and processing agricultural waste. **Environmental protection chemicals and materials** are also included, highlighting the importance of specialized agents and materials used in pollution control. Finally, **environmental monitoring instruments** will see continued support, particularly for online pollutant monitoring systems that enable real-time data collection and better regulatory compliance. This latest update revises and expands upon the previous two versions of the catalogue, ensuring that supportive policies remain in place to drive innovation and investment in the environmental protection sector. The NDRC emphasized that these measures are essential for meeting both current and future environmental challenges while promoting a cleaner, healthier society.
