From the construction site of the Shougang Key Project, Qinhuangdao Plate Co., Ltd., a significant milestone has been achieved as the plate expansion project was successfully delivered to the site. The hot rolling test on the plate rolling mill line was a complete success, with both main rolling mill motors operating smoothly. Thanks to their stable performance, all technical specifications fully meet user requirements and have received high praise from stakeholders. This marks the successful production of a 3800KW large DC motor by the Shougang Motor Factory, signaling a new phase in the factory's large-scale DC motor manufacturing capabilities.
The two large DC motors produced by the factory are not only massive in size but also involve complex technical processes and require extremely high assembly precision. Each unit weighs over 130 tons. Faced with unprecedented challenges, the factory recognized both its own equipment advantages and the gaps in its technological capabilities compared to industry standards.
With a spirit of innovation and practical problem-solving, the factory significantly enhanced its independent R&D capabilities. It recruited over 30 experts and professors from academia, introduced advanced process management systems, and integrated these with internal expertise. For the first time, the factory applied rotor shaft technology in motor manufacturing. Innovations such as frozen fitting, stator floating plate lamination, and elevated three-stage wood pole welding were implemented. These efforts enabled the completion of the entire machine manufacturing within 10 months, meeting high-quality and high-standard requirements.
Practical testing has proven that the motor exhibits excellent performance under load and overload conditions, laying a solid foundation for long-term development in motor manufacturing.
It is reported that the factory has recently taken on the task of producing four 4,500KW and two 1,400KW large DC motors, marking a new stage of rapid development in its large-scale motor manufacturing capabilities.
