On August 31, the first 120,000-ton-per-year gas fractionation unit of the Fujian Refining and Ethylene Project successfully completed its intermediate transfer, marking a major milestone as the project officially entered the installation phase. This achievement highlights the progress and efficiency of the entire construction process.
The unit was officially launched on January 18 this year. The IPMT team meticulously planned and coordinated every stage of the project. Despite challenges such as tight deadlines, complex engineering tasks, and adverse weather conditions, the EPC contractor managed to complete the project in just five months—setting a new benchmark for speed and efficiency in gas separation plant construction.
Fujian United Petrochemical Company began full-scale operations on June 12. By the end of July, it had processed a total of 496,500 tons of crude oil. The successful operation of the 120,000-ton gas fractionation unit is a key driver for increasing production of propylene and polypropylene, which are crucial for boosting the company’s profitability and market competitiveness.
Currently, the newly built refining units of the Fujian Refining and Ethylene Project have moved into the installation phase. Major equipment has already been lifted into place, and the basic construction for the main facilities of the polypropylene and polyethylene plants is largely complete. Construction of buildings and steel structures is also progressing well. Meanwhile, the foundation work for the ethylene and IGCC plants is nearing completion, with equipment foundations now under active construction. The installation of major tank structures in the utility area is proceeding smoothly.
Additionally, the Qinglanshan 300,000-ton crude oil terminal continues to advance, with bridge decks, box girders, and steel structures being constructed. The first and third 150,000-cubic-meter storage tanks have also been completed, further supporting the project's overall development.
